ABOUT JC SANTOS

AboutPage.jpg

Juan C. Santos, Jr.  “JC” as his family and friends call him, was born in New Haven, Connecticut of Hispanic parents, mom born in Spanish Harlem, Manhattan New York, and Father from Ponce, Puerto Rico. He is the second eldest of their five sons. He was primarily raised in Waterbury, Connecticut before moving to Florida when he was ten years old.

JC drew his inspiration from Marc Anthony as well as from his rocky relationship with self-image and mainly from his family and God himself. After dealing with various hardships throughout his life God changed his life around, giving him joy and peace. “One day, my pastor referred me to producer, Lannie Battistini since her son was taking piano lessons at his school. When he heard my voice, he wanted me to sing and record!”

And thus his mature music career began!

JC sees himself in a full singing career and influencing all the people around him, as well as other secular and Christian artists! His dream is to introduce the God he knows through his music to his entire family and eventually the world. God changed his life and filled it full of love and joy and peace. JC just wants to be able to spread and share that through his music!

JC’s first Single, an Original song written, composed and arranged by his Producer, Latin Grammy® Award Winner, Lannie Battistini titled, “No One Else but You,”  in the salsa genre sung in English, was released November 6, 2020.  “When I heard this song, I not only related to it but I felt it in my heart and knew I wanted to sing it.  It also reminded me of Marc’s style and I said, YES!”

EARLY LIFE

NOW

Throughout his adolescence, his family didn't really go to church or have any involvement. His parents owned and rented out a 3 story house and one of their tenants happened to be a pastor that invited them to church.

Growing up as a “big” kid would earn him a torrent of verbal abuse throughout his youth, then eventually led him to become aggressive and defensive, talking bad about the people in return. Even after moving to Florida, the kids were the same. His newfound confidence from standing up for himself made him popular in high school and he became the biggest flirt. Every girl found the "big guy" with the long, curly hair to be mysterious and very intriguing!  From there the season of lust for girls in the fast lane possessed his life for a while. Chasing after girls became a sport and he was just out for what he could get out of them. He became reckless going to wild parties, drinking alcohol to a real stupor, and just on a hell-bound downward spiral! It left him empty.

JC began singing since he was just a small boy but didn't really give it serious thought until his junior year of high school.  He began singing everywhere he could find to sing, at church’s, school’s, parties, his older brother's wedding, and many other events.

After he graduated college he felt he needed more to his life and began soul searching by going back to church.  He got very involved in the church to the point where God spoke to him just before he was going to give a class. JC heard, “Go and preach the Gospel to every living thing.”

JC Remembers thinking, “I saw then that God always had a plan for me but I did not realize it at the time.   He was invited to the church that he currently goes and learned quickly that he had a talent that came from God and the purpose for that talent was to use it to reach and help others find the way.”  He reasoned that his voice was God-given since no one in his family ever sang although some of his brothers and mother played instruments.
